Tilde Schweitzer, named Jazz Musician of the Year and Rising Star 2024, is one of Sweden’s youngest and most prominent big band leaders and arrangers. She has composed for some of Sweden’s leading orchestras, such as the Radio Symphony Orchestra, Bohuslän Big Band, and Wermland Opera Orchestra, and tours with artists like Benjamin Ingrosso and David Ritschard.
The newly started big band released its debut album “Vintage Magazine!” in the spring of 2024, which was awarded Big Band Album of the Year by LIRA Music Magazine and nominated for Album of the Year at the Dalecarlia Music Awards. The album also features Nils Landgren, Emmalisa Hallander, and Leo Lindberg.
The band, consisting of the new, hungry generation of jazz musicians, interprets last century’s popular music through Tilde’s newly invented format and arrangements. Old mixed with new, secret guests, and some of the most relevant voices on Sweden’s jazz scene today.
